Another illustrated backstory for Hank's new Aerocatures™️ Kickstarter book
about 1 year ago – Wed, Apr 26, 2023 at 12:48:32 PM

When Hank first thought about an illustration featuring the famous Japanese Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero-Sen fighter plane he drew two possible "heads" for the Japanese pilot: one with a headband often seen on pilots in World War Two photos (top of ink sketch), and the samurai chonmage (pronounced chon∙magay) traditional hairstyle worn during the Edo period (1603-1867) and today on modern sumo wrestlers. Hank's final colorized image is shown below.

Update about the WildWings Unlimited computer game

Jeremy Jones who runs the studio that is developing the computer game answered backer Martijn's questions about its publication:

We will email a Steam key in the next month  or so. The game will be free-to-play upon final release, with a special  backer reward package for all the Kickstarter backers.

Thank you so much to all of our backers. You are making this happen! Here's some fun facts about one of Hank Caruso's aviation illustrations.

His P-47 Thunderbolt (aka "The Jug") is part of the U.S. Air Force Art Collection that hangs in the Pentagon. The cover of a Skyways magazine special edition shows the big radial engine that Hank focused on to create his Aerocature™️ of the P-47 fighter plane. Hank has captions about the historical sources he used for each illustration as well as the first flight date of each aircraft (6 May 1941 for the P-47), plus fascinating historical facts about its service in World War Two.

We are over half way to our funding goal!
